Man Drowns In Artificial Canal

A 22-year-old man has been reportedly drowned in an artificial canal in Ogombo, a suburb of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the victim whose name was given as Sakiru Gbadamosi, fell into the canal and got drowned before help could reach him.

The police at Ogombo Station who were immediately contacted went and took the corpse to a public mortuary.

In another development, a truck driven by one Dauda Mumuni marked XP 759 EKY and a MBW car marked CQ 909 KTU driven by one Augustine Obiawuna had a head-on collision at Odogunyan along Shagamu Road.

The driver of the car, Obiawuna, was said to have died on the spot while two other occupants of the car sustained injuries and are now receiving treatment in the hospital.

Traffic policemen from Shagamu Road Police Station visited the scene and took the corpse to a public mortuary for autopsy while the driver of the truck, Dauda Mumuni, was arrested.

The Lagos State police image maker advised motorists not to overtake at a bend or when climbing a hill so as to avoid head-on collision with on-coming vehicles.
