As Nigeria joined the rest of the world to celebrate the International Women’s Day recently, the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Women Leader in Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, Alhaja Muinat Ajao called for support and empowerment of women for a better society.
The ACN chieftain made the call while speaking with P.M NEWS stressing that the training of a girl-child to any level of education would prepare her for a brighter future.
Alhaja Ajao said the era of discrimination in the training of a girl-child is over and advised parents to give equal opportunities to their male and female children.
The women leader noted that the administration of Governor Fashola encourages women in politics by allocating leadership positions to women in different sectors of the state.
She urged government to appropriate the 30% allocation meant for women in leadership positions as they possess the necessary qualities required for purposeful leadership.
