Lagos East Senatorial District candidate on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Mr. Bareehu Olugbenga Ashafa, has unfolded his agenda for his district if elected in the April general elections.

Addressing pressmen at the Grandview Hotels, Magodo, GRA, Lagos recently, Ashafa unfolded a five-point agenda which were, “effective representation, youths empowerment, educational enhancement, sustainable agricultural development and stable power supply.

Effective representation, according to him, is the hallmark of democracy as defined by Abraham Lincoln as government of the people, for the people and by the people.”

He explained that to give credence to this timeless description, laws and legislation must reflect the wish, aspiration and reality of the people, while assuring that this would constitute his primary focus at the Senate if given the mandate.

The Ibeju-Lekki-born former Permanent Secretary, Land Bureaue, also promised empowerment of young people to make them economically, socially and financially independent as well as gain self fulfilment.

If this is achieved, the 56- year-old politician said crime would be reduced drastically just as he expressed the conviction that the youths are the best resources for promoting their development and so must be agents in meeting the challenges and solving the problems facing them in the new millennium.
