Callcustomstarrif Simplifies Duty Payments

The clearing of goods from Nigerian Ports has been simplified with the introduction of a new IT initiative Callcustomstariff, by Peace Global Satellite Communications Limited, a telephone network operator based in Lagos.

The initiative puts knowledge of the tariff payable for any imported good on the fingertip of everybody by simply dialling 01-2303333 from anywhere and following the voice prompt.

The enquirer will then hear the rate of import duty and other charges, without human intervention – automated. This is at no cost to the inquirer outside the normal call cost.

The beauty of Callcustomstariff, according to the company, is that it also offers users the opportunity to access the tariff through interactive text messages.

Speaking on the new concept, the Managing Director of Peace Global Satellite Communications, Mr. Livingstone Oreye said it was developed to make it easy for people to access and know the Customs duty payable and also help in making clearing of goods from the Nigerian Ports much faster.
