Okotie’s Campaign Kicks Off Tomorrow

Chris Okotie

The presidential flag bearer of the FRESH Democratic Party,  Rev. Chris Okotie, will start his nationwide presidential campaign this weekend.

Okotie said this will put to rest speculations regarding his presidential campaign which would be held in all the six geo-political zones of the country.

He said he would be talking to leaders and stakeholders across the nation, who share the FRESH dream of a new Nigeria, adding that Human capital development remained the core component of his philosophy.

“All through the years, we have been saying this and we would continue to say it. Nigeria needs a change, not from tired, old politicians who are careless, having been in power for about 12 years without moving us forward, because they all have archaic ideas that have no relevance to our current state of near-paralysis.

“Change in Nigeria requires a certain urgency and dynamism which only Rev. Okotie could bring to governance,” he averred.

He debunked suggestions in certain quarters that his overbearing influence on his party does not allow other aspirants to contest for the presidency.

“There is a level playing field. Nobody came forward to contest for the presidency and I was adopted in an open convention which we held on 30 September, 2010 in the presence of the media. Our people have come to realise that I represent the vision and because I originated it, I am in the best position to actualise it,” he said.

Okotie expressed optimism that he would win the presidential elections come 9 April, if it is free and fair, adding that despite all the hitches experienced during the voter registration, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, should be able to do a good job.
