Politics Of Blood

Amara

This article is dedicated to my strongest fan who I spoke with just days before his untimely death-Mr Lawson. I still can’t believe it happened.

He always gave me topics to work on. I never knew he was going too soon. He was a dedicated PTA member of the school where my children are. He raised this issue with me weeks ago, but we never knew he won’t be here to read this article. Adieu Mr. Lawson.

I don’t know if I should see it as the fulfilment of Biblical prophecies on events that will usher in the second coming of Christ. However you see it, whatever you call it; politics in Africa is now something to worry about. We have rulers in place of leaders. Look at Ghaddafi, Mubarak, Mugabe, and their Tunisian counterpart; they all want to die in power.

I have the intention of joining politics soon, but with the way things are going in Nigeria, I am going to re-consult my God before taking a step. Politics is a game that should be enjoyed, but it has suddenly become a game won by the most devilish. Look at the National Assembly; how many of them have come with reasonable bills? We just have people who got there through prostitution and money laundering for governors and presidents.

I became so interested in politics after following all through the USA and UK’s recent elections. I saw very intelligent brains fighting to win the race. I keep wondering why African politics is a game where evil and devilish powers meet only for the most demonic to win. But I believe there is going to be a turnaround soonest.

Look into Nigerian politics; what you see is rotation of power. They make us believe someone is no longer in power when in the true sense of it the man is still in control. I am not a politician, neither am I going to vote strictly for a party. Fashola has done extremely well in Lagos state and so I have every good reason to vote and pray for him to come back.

I recently told a friend on Facebook that I am still waiting for that day when GEJ will bring to book all the thieves around him in form of ex-Presidents, Vice Presidents, Senators, Legislators, Governors, and Activists. Until he does this; I will not listen to his voice when  it comes to corruption because even our anti-corruption agencies have more corrupt people as directors.

That I stand for BRF doesn’t mean I have to vote for every ACN flagbearer when I know pretty well that they won’t deliver. I have so many things against Asiwaju, but I also respect his guts. He became the first political godfather to challenge the powers of PDP and I salute his courage.

Let me go straight into the topic of today. Looking at the way Africans understand politics, I think we still have a long way to go. Politics should be that of issues, but unfortunately, we have turned it to be a game of blood. In Nigerian politics, he who spills more blood comes to power.

Let me start with the case of Dele Giwa.I was a very little girl when he was murdered, but I remember hearing so many comments about his death. I also don’t understand why some friends and relations of the late activist are now wining and dining with the killers of their friend, colleague, brother, and husband.

Why are all the activists after Chief Gani Fawehinmi and all the lawyers with “SAN” attached to their names, not doing anything to bring the culprits to book? Even the Federal Government that is talking about democracy does not want to go into these cases. Why is Major Mustapha still in prison without proper trial? Someone should please tell GEJ that Nigerians demand answers to the above questions.

Why was the late Chief Bola Ige murdered? I am not in government neither do I know what happened, but all I know is that his killers are still alive and well in government. Some of them are serving senators and legislators of this country. Some are indirectly in power even when they are no longer there.

The late Daramola of Ekiti was murdered in cold blood just because he came to serve his fatherland.Today; his killers are all over the place campaigning for one political position or the other. The funniest thing about all these is that we forget so soon in Nigeria.

Everyone is afraid to talk, but smart enough to go behind and accept money from the perpetrators of these evil. So many journalists have been murdered just because they tried to speak the truth. They paid the price while their mates are now all over the place receiving awards they never worked for. You see them live in big houses with fat foreign bank accounts simply because they compromised. How many of those awards have been given to those whose blood was shed for Nigeria?

We no longer have journalists. I recently told a friend that journalism in Nigeria died after the time of Dele Giwa,Bayo Onanuga,Babafemi Ojudu,Ray Ekpu and many others. Activism also died the day Chief Gani Fawehinmi was buried. These guys paid the price for journalism and now we have hungry sycophants and blackmailers in the name of journalists and activists.

What has happened to the memories of late Ken Saro-Wiwa?He laid down his life for this great nation and the masses. Today,we have MEND and Co;a group of greedy men and women looking for nothing, but political relevance and wealth.Guys, let us tell ourselves the truth; if at all these groups are for the good of the common man, we will not have our fathers and aged mothers in the villages of Niger Delta passing through hell. If at all there is one among them that is very sincere in his mission, there would have been a difference with the oil companies doing the right thing.

But the fact is that they are all after their pockets. I feel strongly for the people of Niger Delta. I was in Bayelsa State recently when I was taken to the villages.Friends, I saw people living in abject poverty with pipelines in their compounds. When are the Nigerian government and the indigenes of these states going to look beyond their pockets and foreign bank accounts and for once feel genuinely for their people?

They keep saying nothing is working in Nigeria, but my question is this; is it possible to have things work when the land is filled with very selfish and dishonest people? They keep calling Nigerian government, but watch their styles. All they do is come out with one story and make so much noise about it that the government notices them. The next thing is for one office to be created overnight and the noise maker sent to manage the affairs. This is why we have so many useless portfolios in the name of SA and SSA.These offices are now there as settlement machineries. With the numerous SSAs, what good is happening in Nigeria?

We keep thinking the Niger Delta guys are fighting for the survival of their people, but the fact is that they want their own share of the national cake. But looking at it constructively, they deserve to be settled very well because our economy depends on them. But what I keep saying is this; they should take it easy with foreign bank accounts and oil allocation. The good of their people should be of utmost importance.

I see people during this election sit in Lagos believing that with their money they can buy everyone over. Others believe they are going into government because they have one godfather somewhere defending them. Most of them are taken to different occult places for some kind of sacrifice and oath taking. I know you still remember the Okija Shrine incidence of Abia and Anambra States. But the most dangerous aspect of today’s politics is the spilling of blood.

If you read my first article this year, I warned everyone to be very careful of politicians. I pity those who are being lured to campaign grounds with just N5,000.You go there and lose your life for just N5,000 while the chiefs from your villages who took N500,000 are alive.

Have you wondered why millions go to the Redeem Camp and other godly gatherings with no life being lost? They come to a gathering of just three thousand people and ten people lose their lives. I pity you if you are following them now because they will use your head to appease their gods.

Hear this now; they have been given orders on how many heads to bring and innocent blood to spill before they can get to positions of power. They are ready to sacrifice their own mother because of desperation for power. All they do is come on national television, sympathise with your family and pray for the repose of your gentle soul.

Even when you all get involved in auto or air crash, nothing happens to them because they are the cause of that accident. I heard the story of an ex president of this nation who was sighted at night in the middle of the sea carrying human skull and the nation’s flag. Hmmm, my people we need to be more prayerful than we are because the problem of Nigeria is beyond human comprehension.

Our task masters have put us in eternal bondage and misery. Suddenly our nation, a great nation, a land of plenty has turned to a land of pain, lack, sorrow, and anguish.

Ribadu/Adeola, Buhari/Bakare, Goodluck/Sambo; all these may have good intentions for our dear nation. They will all try to do their best, but the truth is that the powers holding this nation are stronger than them all. All we have to do is start praying for the destruction of the evil and demonic cabal holding this nation down.

I laugh when I see people, in ignorance, listen to all these politicians. If you know where they enter before coming to the campaign ground; if you know how many oracles they consult and make sacrifices to; if you know how many buckets of blood they have given to their gods, you will run for your dear life.

Politics in Nigeria is different from what you have in the western world. Yes they kill and assassinate their opponents, but definitely not as rampant as we have here.

We had the case of Ogun politics where people were forced to bow to a certain god and swear an oath of allegiance before the oracle. We heard of food made with human flesh being served to guests in that same government house. I don’t know how true that story was, but I know such things exist. The only question I asked is why those guys confessed after partaking in the evil. They probably didn’t get what they asked for and that is why they came out with blackmail.

I know of an incumbent governor here in the south-west who had to bury one hundred cows alive in his residence just because of power.

When I see young girls follow these politicians, I pity them because one day they will be used for pepper soup. Oh, young man making noise all over the place as PA and the rest of them; be very careful.

If at all you love Nigeria, please pray for the peace of Nigeria. When you dedicate your time to praying for her peace, you may not be rewarded immediately with fat bank cheques and oil allocations, but one day, King Ahaseraus (Christians understand) shall wake up to remember your good deeds.

Only God can elevate you and have you remain there without pain.Remember, every Satan’s apple has worms.
