A 38-year old man, Okonkwo Hyginus has been arraigned before a Cele Magistrateâ€™s Court, Isolo, Lagos State for burglary.
Hyginus was alleged to have broken into a shop on 12 March, 2011 at 29, Ijesha Road, Ijeshatedo with an intention to commit felony.
The accused, the police alleged, burgled a shop and stole 158 cartons of lubricant oil worth N1,700,000.
He was arraigned on a two-count charge of burglary and theft, offences punishable under Sections 411(1), 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap.C.38, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2004.
Count one of the charges reads: â€œThat you, Okonkwo Hyginus on 12 March, 2011 at 29, Ijesha Road, Ijeshatedo in the Lagos Magisterial District did break into a shop belonging to Ugochukwu Ndubuisi with an intention to commit felony and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap.C.38, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2004.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and the magistrate, Mrs. Christian Titi Ikpatt, granted him bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case has been adjournedÂ for mention.
