A 24-year-old lady, Omobolanle Ogundapepe, who allegedly presented a forged letter of attestation to the British High Commission in Lagos, for the purpose of acquiring a visa, was on Monday docked in Lagos.
Ogundapepe was arraigned at an Igbosere Magistrate’s court on a three-count charge of conspiracy, forgery and uttering a forged document.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Philip Osigale, told the court that the offences were committed on Feb. 7 at Ajibola Crescent Alapere, Ketu, Lagos.
He said that the accused, with another at large, forged an attestation letter purportedly issued by Comprehensive Junior High School Ketu and submitted it with a visa application to the High Commission.
The prosecutor also said that the accused presented the forged document with the intent to obtain the UK settlement visa.
Osigale said that the offences contravened Sections 516, 467 and 468 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mr A.A. Adefulire, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case till April 21, for mention.
