An Islamic cleric, Alhaji Jimoh Olomowewe, has asked the Agege Grade ‘A’ Customary Court, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria to dissolve his marriage because of adultery.

In his petition filed before the court, the cleric accused his estranged wife, Mrs. Mariam Olomowewe of adultery and irreconciliable differencies.

“I want the dissolution of the marriage because there is no more love between us. She also engages in adultery and I don’t want trouble for myself. Her friends are fond of abusing and insulting me. They call me different names whenever they see me coming. I have reported the matter to the police on more than two occasions,” he stated in the petition.

The wife agreed with the petitioner that there was no more love between them and urged the court dissolve the marriage.

After listening to the couple, the court president, Mr. E. B. Shokunle, adjourned the case till 5 April, 2011 for judgment.

He warned them to keep the peace.
