The people of Orile Igboko Igbesa in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State have appealed to the state government to carve some local councils out of the local government for them not to be deprived of the dividends of democracy.
Speaking on their behalf, the traditional ruler, Chief Wahab Olabnode Itu, explained that Ado-Odo/Ota council is the biggest in Ogun State with about 100 communities, adding that his people hardly enjoy the dividends of democracy due to the size of the council.
He therefore wants the state government to expidite action on the issue as, according to him, his community lacked basic social amenities such as good roads, drinking water, health centre and schools.
The monarch said this is one of the reasons his people are demanding for additional council for the growth and rapid development of the community.
