Kwara Police Declares 148 Thugs Wanted

The Kwara State Police Command has declared 148 persons wanted for their alleged involvement in political thuggery across the state.

According to the Command’s spokesman, ASP Dabo Ezekiel, Offa town in the southern senatorial district has a total of 84 persons followed by Ilorin (36), Oro (15),Omu-Aran (5) and Lade in Lafiagi local government area (5).

Ezekiel said the command had issued arrest warrant for each of the suspects and asked them to surrender themselves to the law before it is too late.

The spokesman said the wanted thugs in Offa, live round Arogun (8), Elephant Junction (20), Idi Isogba Junction (15), Gada (11), Lion Junction (13), Mosalasi Junction (13), Sule Junction (7).

“We have a list of people we suspect are thugs but all of them are denying. So today (yesterday) the Commissioner of Police directed me to declare them wanted.

“We have the warrant. We have not arrested any of them but we are on the look out because we want the coming election to be peaceful.

“The list is a product of our intelligence committee. If these people want peace they must submit to us otherwise they must leave the state.

“It is because we declared them wanted that they are now saying we are witch-hunting them. We are not doing that. We don’t belong to any party; we are members of the Nigeria Police Force. That is our party. If they have anything to prove their case let them come forward,” he said.
