The Prelate, Methodist Church of Nigeria, Dr. Sunday Ola Makinde, has called on the Federal Government to accelerate the formal deregulation of the power sector.
Makinde made the call in his address to the 49th Annual 2011 Synod of the Diocese of Lagos, Methodist Church Nigeria hosted by the Ereko Circuit of the Church, recently.
He further charged the President Jonathan Goodluck administration to promptly address and arrest the insecurity of lives and properties.
Makinde enjoined Nigerians to pray for peaceful, transparent, credible and fair elections in April.
The clergyman also called for continued moral, financial and material support for the church and the society.
He also urged members not to allow themselves or their children to be used as political thugs, kidnappers, killers and election riggers .
In his address to the Synod, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, said the synod should be an occasion to renew their relationships with God as well their neighbours.
