A youth corps member, Obinna Okoroafor, 24, has been arraigned before an Ojo Magistrate’s Court, Ojo area of Lagos State, South-West, Nigeria, for felony, attempted murder and assault.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the corps member, sometime in February 2011, at 2A, Daniel Omo-Ilu Street, Ipaye, Iba Town, macheted 14-year old Miracle Chukwu, a senior secondary student of Army Cantonment Boys High School, Ojo, over a minor dispute.

A source informed P.M.NEWS that trouble started when the younger brother to the corps member identified as Peter, told the victim to stop moving with a naval officer who is said to be engaging in stealing blocks in the area.

Miracle in turn informed his elder brother, Chidi, about what the corps member’s younger brother told him  and that when the corps member heard about it he went to challenge the victim and threatened to deal with him.

The source stated that the corps member, a petrol chemical engineering graduate from Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, later came back to the victim with a machete and inflicted a deep cut on the victim’s head.
