ACN Chieftain Seeks Police Protection

Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, chieftain in Lagos Mainland Local Government Area, Hon. Kazeem Omolaja has asked detectives at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, to investigate recent attacks on him by people suspected to be political thugs.

In a petition he sent to the Commissioner of Police, SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, Omolaja stated that  he was no longer safe as a result of recent attacks on him by political thugs.

Citing previous attacks on him, Omolaja said he was attacked by three men who snatched his car, a wine colour Toyota Camry with registration number GP 608 AAA and his phone on 15 January in front of the secretariat of the Lagos Mainland Local Government at Ondo Street, Ebute Meta around 9.30 and 10 p.m.

The Lagos Mainland politician said the men attempted to abduct him but he resisted them and escaped but not without receiving injuries.

“I reported the attack at the Iponri Police Station. Fortunately for me, policemen from Adekunle Station recovered my car around Apena (Glover Street),” he stated.

Omolaja also disclosed that at a recent meeting of the ACN held at Talmul Primary School, Adekunle, Yaba, Lagos, on 2 March, two political thugs forcefully took the microphone from him and later shooting started.

He added that on Sunday, 6 March, 2011 around 6 p.m., four men, two of whom he recognised, attempted to attack him in front of the Railway Recreation Club, Ebute-Meta but he quickly drove away.

He appealed to the Commissioner of Police in charge of the SCID to intervene in the matter and prevent the hoodlums from wasting his life.
