Tinubu Lauds GOS, Adaranijo
Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has heaped praises on the party’s candidate for Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, GOS, for having a strong faith in the party and standing firmly by it during trying times despite tempting overtures from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Tinubu who spoke at a rally recently, described the duo as dependable and worthy stalwarts who have done the party proud at critical periods.
The former Lagos state governor also praised Hon. Taofeek Abiodun Adaranijo, the Chairman of Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, who opted out of the House of Representatives race, following consultations with the party.
He said ACN would not forget the concessions and acts of maturity and understanding.
Tinubu who spoke on the need to make political sacrifice whenever the need arises, recalled that GOS did this when he did not get the governorship ticket in 2007.
He noted that the chairman, Senate Committee on Capital Market was rewarded with the senatorial slot when he (Tinubu) decided not to return to the Senate that same year.
Tinubu lamented why the two-term House of Representatives member from Agege Constituency, Hon. Kunle Amunikoro, refused to learn from these great politicians by putting the party’s interest over personal agenda.
He described him as a cunning politician, who took the party to court over the primaries, despite not winning the shadow poll.
Tinubu said: “Amunikoro came from abroad to become a member of House of Representatives in 2003, not because he was a well known member of our party. In 2007, the party rejected him; elders of our party begged for him to return to the House in 2007 because he did not support the third term project.
“He is full of himself. He said he would sue our party. He has committed an error. I invited him to my house. I asked him not to forget his origin. He did not win the primaries; he has not contributed financially to the party. We have also told Niyi Raheem to be patient. You cannot climb a tree from the top, else you fall down.†he said.
He enjoined members to be weary of certain agents of the Peoples democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), pointing out that the two parties have nothing to offer Lagosian.
