Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Sunday inspected the construction of a new on-ramp bridge designed to carry traffic travelling from Victoria Island to Ikoyi, westbound along Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue and the Northwards across Five Cowrie Creeks via Falomo Bridge. He said it demonstrates the commitment of the administration to continue to improvise and find solutions to day to day problems facing the city state.

The governor who spoke after being taken round the ramp where work is ongoing and also partaking in pouring concrete on the bridge work through an automated process said the State Government has shown that despite the tediousness of the campaigns, it still finds time to work for the people.

“That is the least that Lagosians expect from us and we are also ready to meet their needs. For our opponents who try to play politics with this road, I think it is now time to use our votes to tell them to get out of our lives.”

“This project also has a Federal Executive Council (FEC) approval and the Attorney General of the Federation’s endorsement. It has a federal support agreement. They better go to Abuja and find out the true position. I think it is cheap and low to play politics with the lives of the people,” the Governor added.

The governor who said the new ramp is a travel time infrastructure that reduces travel time and breaks congestion while keeping more money in the pockets of the motorists by making their fuel last longer.

Governor Fashola noted that the area will never look the same again urged the media men covering the inspection to take good pictorial representations of the new ramp for young ones so that they can be shown that some people dared to try and make things better.
