Nigerians have been advised on the need to reject the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) totally at the April general elections, to forestall the mounting wave of revolution sweeping through the North African sub-region rearing a violent presence in the country.
A chieftain of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Mainland Local Government Area of Lagos State, Kunle Ademoye, warned that the prospect of such mass uprising is very real, contrary to the erroneous impression that its possibility in the Nigerian political environment is far fetched.
“I affirm, without equivocation, that the only antidote to such revolution rearing its head is to shun and avoid the PDP like a plague as the party is an evil party, dominated by unpatriotic elements which means that nothing good can come out of it.
“The PDP has been a curse to this country rather than a blessing, as its 12-year tenure had brought an era of unmitigated disaster and calamity of the most horrendous dimension, considering the fact that the party had only succeeded in drawing the nation 50 years behind.
“It should indeed be clear to all by now, that a vote for PDP is a vote for unending yoke of suffering, poverty, hunger, slavery, oppression, eternal weeping and wailing, frustration and disappointment, Ademoye noted.
In a related development, the lawmaker representing Mainland Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has urged Lagosians not to be deceived by the usual antics that a PDP administration in Lagos State will enjoy better funding from the Federal Government. This, he buttressed with the fact that PDP-controlled states, particularly in the South West, rank among the worst governed states in the country, adding that Lagos State can certainly not be an exception.
Ademoye, who is also the chairman, House Committee on Housing, however, gave kudos to the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), saying that its popularity the nation comes as a welcome development.
He remarked further that the progress the party has made in recent times is tremendous as progressive minded populace across the nation now look up to ACN to deliver the nation to the promised land after 50 years of toddling in the labyrinth, while noting that the giant strides of the Fashola-led administration in Lagos State, the administration of Edo State led by Adams Oshiomhole and the Fayemi and Aregbesola-led governments in Ekiti and Osun states respectively, are all indications of what to expect under an ACN-led government of the federation.
