The best of Swarovski Elements, Madeira, Beadalon, iLoveToCreate and other design enhancing products were recently previewed by Crafties Hobby-Craft Limited at an exhibition held at Protea Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.
With the slogan, Encouraging Creativity In Everyone, the display at the preview event left no one in doubt that Crafties enjoys several alliances with international companies such as SWAROVSKI, Beadalon, Pony and iLoveToCreate.
The Spring/Summer 2012 collection of Swarovski Elements was on display alongside their many catalogues and posters.
Mrs. Oluseyi Abdullahi, CEO of Crafties Hobby-Craft said one of the goals of her company is to consolidate the position of the Nigerian fashion industry on the international stage.
“We want to ensure that Design Enhancing Products which are available to designers of repute on the international scene are readily available here for Nigerian designers. That is why Crafties stocks materials and tools for different crafts. We also teach different craft skills and sell a wide variety of craft books,†Abdullahi said.
At the preview, different application tools and techniques were shown to the participants and there was a demonstration on the use of the heat press to attach Hotfix SWAROVSKI Elements to garments by Kindell Ltd.
Abdullahi, who for many years ran slot on NTA’s Going Places on the art of jewellery making skills, also presented his certificate as the Create Your Style Ambassador. This was in recognition of her track record of teaching creative skills.
Notable among those in attendance were Mon Ami, House of Henry, Mudi, Satin and Lace, Monique, Abstract Handmade, Subzy Elesho and a host of others.
