PDP Prepares Members For General Elections

The Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has prepared its members and the public psychologically for the coming election, while saluting the courage and resilience of its committed members, who despite the lure of monetary inducement have remained committed to the party.

Speaking at a press conference held at the party’s secretary at Shogunle, the state Chairman of the party, Hon. Setonji Koshoedo, said they are not like those who despite benefitting from the party, have chosen to defect to the opposition party.

He acknowledged the support of Lagosians who, he said, in their hundreds of thousands have expressed their solidarity and prefence for the PDP and their candidates at all levels.

“The massive turn-out of Lagosians at our various campaign rallies across the state are positive indications that our party will emerge victorious at the coming elections. It is a further testimony that the people are fed up with the ruling party and are desirous of change.

“I commend the resilience of Lagosians for enduring the hardship visited on them by the Fashola-led administration. Never again would Lagosians allow themselves to be fooled by the deceit and treacherous antics of a group of exploiters who have eventually discovered the name, Action Congress of Nigeria, in the state.

“The ACN government has demonstrated in many ways its lack of basic understanding of a democratic government and thus failed in meeting the aspirations of the people. Rather, it has invested hugely in propagandist governance,” he added.

He accused the ACN of deciding to import ‘ecomog voters’ from across the borders and compromise INEC officers with money inducements to hike their stake in the elections.

“It is our responsibility to alert the public on their evil plans and to advise you all to be very vigilant at polling units and to defend your votes. Don’t be scared of their threats of violence as security agents will be mobilised to provide adequate protection all through the election periods.
