Unveiling Fashola's 'Music Ambassadors'

As the incumbent governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola rounds off his re-election campaign, P.M. Entertainment presents top Nigerian music and movie stars who were part of his campaign team.

King Sunny Ade: The juju music maestro, whose wife is a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, did not openly participate in any of the Action Congress of Nigeria rally, but he recorded a special album in which he eulogised the governor for his achievement in office. In the album, he calls on Lagosians to vote for Fashola.

Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi: The king of Miliki music turned evangelist, who returned to the live music scene recently like his friend and brother, KSA, did not participate in all ACN’s rallies, but recorded a special album titled Re-elect BRF, for the re-election bid of the governor. In the project, he also highlighted Fashola’s achievements with a call on Lagosians to vote for him at the polls.

General Kollington Ayinla:

The Fuji music Generalissimo, unlike KSA and Ebenezer Obey, turned his Alagbado, Lagos home to a campaign venue for the ACN. He also held an open rally for BRF in that area during which he distributed ACN T-shirts, flags and other memorabilia to party supporters. He recorded and released a special song which he distributed during the rally.

Adewale Ayuba: The Bonsue Fuji king, like others, recorded and released a CD in support of Raji Fashola’s re-election. Entitled Ayuba For BRF, the album also enumerated the good works of Fashola in Lagos State with a call on the citizens to re-elect him for a second term in office.

King Wasiu Ayinde: He can be described as a the real ACN ambassador because he has been holding open campaigns for the party since the tenure of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In one of such rallies he sang confrontational songs which he recorded in support of the party, among other things.

Jide Kosoko: The Lagos prince and former National President of ANTP did a documentary drama for the re-election bid of Fashola. Dubbed Ayanfe, the documentary features songs and drama which project Lagos as a place to be and the development that has taken place in the state in the last four years, among other things. Parading prominent stars like Adewale Eleso, Soji Taiwo, Fokoko, Henrietta Kosoko, Yomi Fabiyi, Yemi Solade and other prominent actors and actresses, he also campaigned for Remi Tinubu, Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon and Gbenga Ashafa, all senatorial candidates in Saturday’s election.

Gbenga Adewusi: The popular radio and television presenter, film producer and marketer, did six songs and a documentary for the re-election bid of Fashola. He also opened a website for the incumbent governor and dedicated his programmes on radio and television to the governor’s re-election bid, among other things.
