Why I’m Going For Lagos House Again — Ikuforiji
Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, has explained that he is recontesting for the House of Assembly in order to build on the foundation he laid.
Hon. Ikuforiji disclosed this at a forum organised for candidates contesting in the April elections from the Ikeja constituency in Lagos State.
The Speaker, who is contesting for a third term, promised to sponsor legislation that would enhance education development throughout the state.
The gathering, put together by the Ikeja Concerned Citizens Forum, a non-partisan group, had in attendance five other candidates contesting various political offices.
The group said it organized the event to engage the candidates on their plans and progranmmes for the electorate.
Highlighting his programmes, Hon. Abiodun Faleke, who is contesting for the House of Representatives, said he hopes to make the federal government give recognition to the 37 local council development areas (LCDAs) in Lagos.
Hon. Faleke, who is the immediate past Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, said he would push for laws that would bring about sanity in expenditures at the federal level.
Other candidates who spoke at the forum include Hon.Olalade Waheed Sobare, PDP candidate for House of Representatives, Mr. Danmola Aboyadepo (Labour Party ), Miss Lola Akande, ACN candidate for the Lagos House of Assembly and Horsefall Olatunbosun of the African Liberation Party.
