The governorship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Alhaji Jibrin Isa was on Thursday involved in ghastly motor accident on Lokoja-Abuja road claiming the life of his State Security Service detail.
The accident occurred as a result of a collision among the convoy of the PDP governorship candidate when he was returning to his hometown, Ajiolo in Dekina Local Government Area of the state ahead of today’s National Assembly election.
A close associate to the politician confirmed that one of his SSS details lost his life while the driver of one of the vehicles in his convoy sustained serious injury, adding that he may be flown abroad for medical attention.
The Senior Adviser to Governor Ibrahim Idris on Media, Mallam Adamu Zakari also confirmed the accident, stressing that Alhaji Jibrin did not sustain any injury in the accident.
Also speaking on the incident, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr. Sunday Maku also confirmed the accident, noting that it was a minor accident along Koton Karfe and that only one person died.
