Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Ekiti State has given kudos to security agencies that participated in the April 2 polls which was cancelled for shortage of sensitive electoral materials.
The ALGON in a statement signed by its Chairman, Chief Biodun Akin-Fasae on Monday in Ado Ekiti, said ALGON was particularly impressed by the comportment of the security men who were drafted to ensure orderliness during the exercise
The ALGON boss who is also the Chairman of Ikole Local Government, said the performance of security agencies in the last election was an indication that they are capable and competent.
Urging them to maintain the tempo, Akin-Fasae opined that they have started on a good note, charging them that all hands must be on deck to ensure that the orderliness witnessed during the last election prevailed in the subsequent elections.
He equally commended the people of the state for trooping out en masse and comporting themselves well.
He urged the Ekiti electorate not to be discouraged by the cancellation but remain steadfast and committed to electing credible representatives.
Akin-Fasae also enjoined the people to vote wisely to enable them elect credible leaders that would share the same idea of good governance being espoused by the Governor Kayode Fayemi-led government in the state.
