“At about 7.30 p.m., I was at the Total Filling Station when I heard people shouting. I rushed to the scene and found Nojeem and his friends fighting. I joined others to separate them. The friends accused Nojeem of stealing N150 from them and demanded that he should be searched.â€
Investigations revealed further that a search conducted by the peacemakers on Nojeem proved successful. The missing money was found on him and he was booed and humiliated and later told to go.
The friend revealed further that he got a call the following day that Nojeem had committed suicide. “I was told he hanged himself in his shop. It was sad. The boy killed himself over a small money. I was told that he wrote a note on his table, saying he could not bear the disgrace,†he added.
