Defend Your Votes -Okogie

Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Olubunmi Cardinal Okojie has enjoined Nigerians to defend their votes in Saturday’s rescheduled National Assembly elections.

Cardinal Okogie stated this while receiving members of ‘Save The Economy of Nigeria’ (STEN) campaign group, during a courtesy visit.

Cardinal Okogie advised Nigerians to vote peacefully and avoid hooliganism during and after the elections.

He also enjoined candidates of the various political parties to display maturity after the elections.

“Vote and defend your vote. Do not allow any politician to use you as thugs, do not give or take bribe,” he cautioned.

Coordinator of the group, Mrs. Kaykunmi Osemede, said the group will continue to campaign against bribery and corruption, the killers of the nation’s economy, adding that Nigeria will be a better place if it is free from the vices.

The group enjoined Nigerians to vote for a God-fearing and selfless person with the interest of the masses at heart.
