A head of the rescheduled elections, a chieftain of Action Congress of Nigeria and current chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Akeem Omoyele Sulaimon, has appealed to the people of Lagos and Bariga in particular, to remain focused.

He urged them to refuse to be intimidated by the antics of those he described as retrogressive elements who are determined to clinch power by all means.

Sulaimon who is fondly called Oris by his admirers, made the call in a press statement made available to LG Circuit yesterday.

He solicited the support and understanding of the people of his council area for the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) candidate for the House of Representatives in the area, Ayodeji Jakande, saying if elected into office, he would render effective representation and bring about the desired development to the area.

“I have met him and discussed on various issues bothering on the development of our constituency and I think he is capable of making the desired change if given the mandate,” Sulaimon disclosed.

He also said he was impressed and encouraged by the commitment and tenacity of the leadership of ACN, especially that of the National Chairman and Leader, Chief Bisi Akande and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to engendering positive change in the country.

“I was particularly humbled by the show of support of the people of Lagos State for the ACN, which informed their resolve to defy all odds to ensure that they exercise their civic rights,” he expressed, while urging the people of his constituency not to be discouraged by last Saturday’s postponement of the National Assembly election and develop what he called voter fatigue, but to turn out en masse and cast their votes this Saturday for Jakande and other ACN candidates in subsequent elections.
