National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) members who served as presiding officers during last Saturdayâ€
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the corps membersâ€
Mr Issah Jubril, who served as presiding officer at Mosafejo Polling Centre in Badagry last Saturday, complained of the lack of security.
“I and my colleagues may have no choice than to pull out of Saturdayâ€
The corps member who said that INEC did not provide security details for them, however, commended soldiers who ensured peace in the area.
Speaking in the same vein, Mr Harrison Ogu, the NYSC Liaison Officer, Badagry LGA confirmed that his members were not provided with security details during the polls.
“Corps members are not happy about the poor security arrangement by INEC during the aborted polls,†he told NAN.
He, however, said that they were yet to lodge any complaint officially to the INEC officer in charge of Badagry LGA, Mr Babalola Badejo.
When contacted, Badejo told NAN that the report had been made at the police station to investigate the polling centre where such lapses took place.
He assured the corps members that adequate security arrangements had been made for the forthcoming elections.
“Whatever happens, there will be no problem for the corps members on Saturday as effective policing has been arranged for them,†the INEC officer said.
