Fashola Won’t Demolish Ikotun Market —ACN

The Lagos State Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN has debunked rumours spreading that Governor Babatunde Fashola will demolish the Ikotun Market once he is re-elected as governor.

The party said the rumour, which was being pedled in Ikotun area was the handiwork of opposition party in a bid to cause disaffection between the people and Fashola so that they would not vote for him.

Publicity Secretary of the party in Lagos, Mr. Joe Igbokwe called on Lagosians, especially those residing in Ikotun to ignore such rumour as it was not true and that the governor would demolish Ikotun Market.

“Information reaching my desk says that some people are pedling rumours that once Governor Fashola wins the 2011 election, he will pull down Ikotun Market.

“Please, I beg our teeming supporters in Ikotun to ignore this dangerous rumour that is not only being spread to cause disaffection within our great party but to disenfranchise us from voting massively for ACN,” he said.

According to Igbokwe, the peddlers of such rumours “are unrepentant liars from the hottest part of hell. Please, ignore the rumours and support Governor Fashola and the ACN.”
