It rained a little in Abeokuta, capital of Ogun state today as voting in the parliamentary election was going on. But it appeared the shower of blessing was not meant for one of the candidates in the senatorial election in the state.
Iyabo Obasanjo Bello, daughter of the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo was beaten by her rival in the Action Congress of Nigeria in the early results declared.
In the two pollings units in front of her father’s home the AC got 118 votes to PDP’s 64. Governor Gbenga Daniel’s PPN got just 5 votes.
In the second polling unit, Iyabo got 85 votes to AC’s 194.
The final tally of the voting in the senatorial district shall be known later today.
Iyabo obasanjo Bello is a serving senator seeking re-election on the platform of the ruling PDP.
