Celebrations Galore In Amosun's Residence

Hundreds of Action Congress of Nigeria supporters this morning stormed the Layi Balogun Street, Housing Estate, Abeokuta residence of the party’s governorship candidate in Ogun State, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun to celebrate the party’s victory in yesterday’s national assembly elections.

In the results announced so far, ACN won the three senatorial seats in the state. The results were announced at the various senatorial districts.

 

Speaking with PMNEWS at his residence this morning, Senator Amosun attributed the resounding victory of ACN to the people’s clamour for change.

Amosun confirmed that his party won in 19 local governments areas of the state. “People are tired of the mismanagement of the state by the PDP government of Ogun State.

They spoke yesterday through their votes. They said they want a change and the result is what we witnessed yesterday. I am happy that they trooped out yesterday to express themselves. The result shows an overwhelming desire for change in Ogun State and we are going to give them that change.

Their overwhelming choice of ACN shows that they want to do away with the past. It shows that they believe in ACN.” At the Oke Sokori residence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, there was gloom as the former president spoke with some few party members who visited him. Sen. Iyabo Obasanjo Bello who was defeated yesterday refused to talk to journalists who sought her comment on the election.

Attempts by PMNEWS to get details of the national assembly elections at the INEC office in Magbon, proved unsuccessful as the staff claimed they have not received the details from the senatorial districts.
