Army Denies Aiding PDP Rig Elections In Rivers
The Joint Task Force, JTF, in the Niger Delta has described as baseless the allegation by the Rivers State Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, that Mrs. Patience Goodluck Jonathan, wife of the president directed the security agencies to aid PDP in the state to rig the election.

Reacting to the allegations made by the state ACN Chairman, Uche Okwukwu, a lawyer, Colonel Timothy Antiga, wondered whether the JTF is under the office of the Wife of Mr President for her to give such a directive to the military outfit.
Colonel Antiga said: “This is the season of politics and elections. If anybody has lost elections and had valid evidence that the security agencies caused it, he should channel the complaint to the appropriate authority rather than make baseless allegations.â€
The ACN Chairman in the state had rejected the results released by INEC, and called for the outright cancellation of the election.
He blamed the party’s woeful performance in the National Assembly polls on security agencies, which the party claims aided PDP to sweep the polls.
