Prince John Emeka, Senator-elect for Anambra-North Senatorial District, has dedicated his victory to his people.
Emeka made the declaration while speaking with newsmen yesterday in Onitsha after he was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He said his victory was as a result of the resilience of his people, who had insisted and ensured that the slogan, “one-man, one-vote†prevailed.
“It is victory for the people of Anambra North. They spoke with their votes and I am humbled by their action.
“The election ended peacefully. I must tell Jega that he did a good job, although he was faced with challenges all along the way,†Emeka said.
The Senator-elect, who was a former Minister of State for Transport, said he would keep the campaign promises he made to his people.
He, however, urged all politicians, irrespective of party affiliation, to join him to work for the progress of the district.
Emeka also urged INEC to ensure that voting starts on time in the remaining elections.
