Man, Wife Arraigned For Hurting Woman

A couple on Monday, appeared before an Abuja Magistrate’s Court for hurting a woman.

Raymond Ibhadon, 30, and his wife Joy, 23,  both of Lugbe Zone 5, Abuja, were arraigned on a two-count charge of joint act and causing hurt before Senior Magistrate Omolola Oladipo.

Police Prosecutor Yilkudi Dungji said that on April 4, one Grace Matthew of  Lugbe Zone 5, Abuja, reported at the station that the couple connived and beat her  up without reason, and that in the process she sustained injury on the right side of her face.

Dungji said the offences were contrary to Sections 79 and 244 of the Penal Code Law.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

Oladipo granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety each in like sum, adding that the surety should have a fixed address within the jurisdiction of the court.

She adjourned the case to May 12, for further hearing.
