An estate agent, Jimoh Olorunfemi was on Tuesday charged before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for allegedly forging the documents of a three-bedroom flat.

The 45-year-old accused appeared before Chief Magistrate (Mrs.) Oyindamola Ogala on a three-count charge of conspiracy, forgery and stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp. Eshiet Eshiet told the court that the accused forged the document of a three-bedroom flat belonging to one Mr. Solomon Fabunmi.

Eshiet said that the accused, by forging the document, presumed it was written by Fabunmi and also claimed that the flat was sold to one Fredrick Oladeji.

The prosecutor said that the intention of the accused was to steal the apartment located at Block 424, Flat 2, Jakande Housing Estate, Abesan, Ipaja in Lagos Lagos.

He said that the accused committed the offence along with others still at large in 2006.

Eshiet said that the offence contravened sections 390 (9), 467 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State and punishable with a seven-year imprisonment on conviction.

Olorunfemi pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N250, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned till May 4 for further hearing.
