Lagos State Pools Agents Association, LASPAA has said that not until Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola steps in to address the situation in pools industry in the state will sanity  return to the business.

LASPAA said Governor Fashola is the last hope of the pools agents in the state, as pools promoters have taken the law into their hands in flagrant disregard of the Lagos State Edict on Pools.

According to the President of the association, Major Sammy Ogunyebo (retd.), promoters are selling coupons with high commission, they are using their shops to perpetrate this act thereby depriving independent agents of their share of the market.

“That is why we wrote a petition to Fashola detailing the situation in the pools industry in the state, how it affects my over 25,000 members and the way out of the problems. Unfortunately, civil service bureacracy has been delaying the proposal from seeing the light of day,” he lamented.

“We want Fashola to look into our case and compel the chairman of Lagos State Inland Revenue Service, LIRS, Mr. Babatunde Fowler to expedite action on our proposal which iis currently on his table.

“Fashola’s quick intervention is urgently needed so that my members will be out of hunger, pains and frustration,” he added.
