Man Arraigned For Stabbing Friend’s Eye

The police in Oko-Oba Police Station, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, have arrested a middle age man who allegedly stabbed his friend in the eye.

The suspect, Usman Abiose, who resides at No. 14, Olaroku Street, New Oko-Oba, was alleged to have attacked the victim at Centre Stage Night Club where they were playing snooker game.

The victim, Martins Osekwuta, was according to an eyewitness, playing snooker game with other friends when an argument broke out and Abiose who was not in anyway connected with the matter allegedly picked a bottle, broke it and used the piece to stab Martins on the eye severally, saying Martins always claims to be too wise.

Other friends present rushed the victim to a nearby hospital while Usman was promptly arrested and handed over to the police.

When P.M.NEWS visited Oko-Oba Police Station, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO,  Mr. Omole Ola, SP, was said to have gone on routine patrol.

The suspect has been charged to Magistrate Court 5 Abule-Egba for assault and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace. He was granted bail but remanded in Kirikiri prison pending when he meets his bail conditions.
