8 PDP Lawmakers Decamp To ACN

Running mate to Alhaji Rashidi Ladoja, Oyo State governorship candidate of the Accord Party, Hon. Samuel Ademola Adejumobi who is the Majority Leader in the Oyo State House of Assembly and seven others today decamped to the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

The decampees urged the people of Oyo State to vote for the ACN governorship candidate, Senator Abiola Ajimobi. The decampees are: the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Kazeem Ayilara; Chairman, House Parliamenary Caucus, Mr. Mohammed Inakoju, Mr. Okunlade, Mr. Tijani Ademola Rasaq and Mr. Kayode Animashaun.

Addressing journalists today at the NUJ secretariat, Iyaganku, Mr. Adejumobi said that their decision was informed by the popularity of ACN in the state, stressing that the glory of the state can only be restored by the ACN.  Adejumobi further disclosed that he withdrew as the running mate to the Labour Party and that Ayilara also withdrew from contesting the House of Representatives seat in the Ibadan North West and South West.

”In addition, our other colleagues that are contesting the state House of Assembly election on the platforms of other parties other than the ACN are hereby advised to step down for ACN candidates.”.

We are appealing to the populace including students, parents, workers in the public and private sectors to vote for Ajimobi.

They alleged that both Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State and Senator Rasheed Ladoja of Accord do not have what it takes to lead the state. They alleged further that Akala and Ladoja are corrupt persons, stressing that while Akala has not cleared himself of the N8.9 billion scam, Ladoja was involved in N1.9 billion scam during his administration.

He said that because ACN led in the National Assembly poll just concluded, anybody who voted against the  ACN has wasted his or her votes.
