Oshiomhole Sacks Aides
Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state has sacked two commissioners in his cabinet.

The Governor, who carried out the sack just four days after the National Assembly election in which his party, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) won en-masse in the state, also sacked several of his other aides.
Those who have been relieved of their duties include the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Anselm Ojezua, and his Ministry of Transport counterpart, Hon Lucas Okojie.
Others dropped are Mr Peter Okoh, Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment and Dr Sunday Edeko, Special Adviser to the Governor on Education
Also relieved of their appointments are Dr. John Ogbeide, Chairman Health Management Board and Mr Sylvester Osagie, Chairman, Edo City Transport Service.
Two Senior Special Assistants to the governor, Mr. Theophillus Afuda and Mrs. Caro Agada were also relieved of their appointments.
A short statement announcing the sack and signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Peter Okhiria, did not state the reasons why the action was taken.
It only said “the governor thanks all the affected persons for the service rendered to the state and wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavours.â€
Before the election, there had been speculation that some commissioners would be relieved of their duties. This created anxiety among members of the state Executive Council.
