Presidential Poll: PDP Perfect Plans To Deliver Plateau

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP has perfected plans to deliver block votes to President Goodluck Jonathan in Saturday’s presidential election in Plateau State.

P.M.News gathered that the plans to vote Jonathan might not be unconnected with the fears that voting a non Christian candidate during the presidential polls could be detrimental to peace that has eluded the state in last three years under Governor Jonah Jang-led PDP government.

Most of the rural people interviewed at Mangu/Bokkos, Jos South and Lantang North and Lantang South federal constituencies believe that voting Jonathan will help consolidate on Jang’s developmental strides in the state.

Plateau PDP chairman, Dr. Haruna Dabin, disclosed an interview that Governor Jang and stakeholders in Plateau, including alleged aggrieved Jos natives have aggrieved to vote Jonathan and PDP in the presidential polls. According to him, the natives of Plateau will not be part of the gang up by some northerners against Jonathan and PDP across the north. “Though Jonathan is a south-south man, we will vote for him,” Dabin said.

He also boasted that the plateau people will not only vote massively but would also give 90 per cent votes cast to Jonathan.

Similarly, Plateau Director, Jonathan /Sambo campaign organization, Da Bulus Daren also confirmed to P.M.News that Jonathan will surely clear 15 out of the 17 local government areas in the state.

P.M.News also gathered that if the voting pattern at the densely populated Jos north and Jos East Local government areas is maintained, Jonathan will undoubtedly sweep the polls, though there are fears that the Hausa-Fulani communities within Jos North Local Government Area will vote for Gen. Muhammed Buhari to protest the frequent crises in the state allegedly masterminded by Governor Jang’s led PDP government.

When contacted to react to the claim that PDP will sweep the presidential polls in the state, Plateau State Secretary of JASAWA an umbrella body for the Hausa-Fulani settlers in Jos and Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Barrister Mudi Sani simply said, “there is no doubt that Jonatahn will win Plateau. And that will happen because he is a Christian.”.

He explained that the Hausa- Fulani population is not enough to give either Buhari or Ribadu the votes that will make them win the state.
