Veteran Ewi exponent, activist and social commentator, Alhaji (Chief) Moshood Lanrewaju Adepoju and his Akewi Theatre Group has released another hit album entitled Agbara Idibo.

Produced by Lanrad Records and marketed by Bolad Music, Lagos, Agbara Idibo and Fashola n se bebe, both follow up to Eyin Omo Nigeria, whose flip side, Tinubu F’omo Yo, was dedicated to the former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term bid in 2007.

Known for his strong criticism and advocacy for peace, justice and equity, the new album is based on the importance of elections, the electorate and their votes as their greatest weapon for a change.

Adepoju, an Awoist, however, did not betray his bravery and respect as a major core value of the Yoruba race when he recorded and released an album to berate the former governor of Oyo State for derogatory utterances against Ibadan indigenes in 1983.

Besides his numerous acidic and satiric works such as Igba Oro Kii Fo, Iku Awolowo, Oselu Tun De, Itumo Aye, Kadara, MKO Abiola, Ofin Olorun and Ede Aiyede, among others, the Alaasa of Ibadanland is also an author and has written books in Yoruba language, most popular among which is Ladepo Omo Adanwo.
