Dolphins chief coach, Zachary Baraje, says the team are ready for the restart of the season next Wednesday, as the league leaders resume in Aba against Enyimba having won the reverse fixture 2-1.

Baraje, who is temporarily in charge of the side as Technical Adviser, Stanley Eguma, is out on U23 national team duty insists they have done enough to keep up the tempo when the league resumes

“We have been training. We have not really given our boys any break even with the interruption of the league. We had some friendly games against the Flying Eagles and also played some state FA Cup matches. So I can say we have been doing well as regards preparations,” Baraje said.

“We have also tried to reinforce the team but clubs have refused to release their players and you wonâ€t blame them because we are trying to take the best players off our rivals, so it has not been easy. Our team have been intact any way.”

He, however, admitted that the uncertainty as regards the resumption date of the league affected the club.

Dolphins manager, Stanley Eguma, says he has no doubts whatsoever on the ability of Baraje to hold fort while he is away on national team duties.

Eguma has been with the U-U23 Eagles, who are currently in Liberia for an All Africa Games qualifier and said Baraje is a decent man to run the team.

“The truth is, we thought long and hard before we brought Baraje to come in as replacement for Ndubuisi Nduka, who had left us then for Plateau United. And when he came, he showed by his attitude to work that he is someone who can be trusted.

“Before the league went on break I used to return for matches and aside that, I had always been in touch with the rest of the team, so my absence has hardly ever been felt that much. Even if I am not around for league games, they can do the job without me,” Eguma said.

He says the team have a program that is strictly adhered to.

“People also do not know that we have a long standing program here that we strictly adhere to and whether Iâ€m here or not, whoever it is in charge follows. I simply just give advise whenever I am not around,” Eguma said.
