The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential candidate, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan swept 16 April election with 1,029,865 million votes to win by a landslide in Plateau State.

Jonathan won 14 out of the 17 local government areas in the state namely; Barkinladi, Bassa, Bokkos, Kanke, Lantang North, Lantang South, Mangu, Mikang, Qua’ apan, Riyom, Shendam, Jos East, Pankshin and Jos South.

 

The presidential flag bearer of the Congress for Progressive Change , CPC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari was able capture only three local government areas; Jos North, Wase and Kanam.

 

The INEC Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor University of Jos , Professor Sonni Tyoden announced that overall Jonathan PDP polled 1,029,865 of the total votes cast. And Buhari’s CPC got 356,551 votes to come second. Nuhu Ribadu came third polling 10,181 votes and Ibrahim Shekarau’s ANPP only polled 5,235 votes.

The total valid votes of presidential elections in Plateau was put at 1,411,117 while the rejected votes are 23,850.
