Driver Of Slain Monarch Still At Large

Driver to the slain Onijoun of Ijoun in Yewa North area of Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria, Oba Jimoh Oyetubo Olubo simply identified as Joseph, has disappeared.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the driver has not been seen since last Friday, the day of the incident.

One of the children of the Onijoun, Princess Yemi Olubo said nobody has seen the driver since he disappeared.

“We have combed everywhere for Joseph but to no avail. We went to his house on Saturday but we didn’t find him, even his room was empty. He has ran away,” Princess Yemi Olubo lamented.

The late Oba Oyetubo was shot dead at a hotel in Igbogila where he was said to be relaxing when his car had a flat tyre.

Five gunmen, it was learnt, demanded money from him and when he failed to give them, they shot him several times.

Some of his chiefs who were contacted on phone reported the incident at the Igbogila Police Station and the area command at Ilaro.

After pleading with the police that it was a taboo for people to look at the corpse of a monarch, the remains of Oba Oyetubo was released to his chiefs for traditional burial.

One of the chiefs in the town, Chief Benjamin Oladitan confirmed to P.M.NEWS that members of the Ijoun council of chiefs led by Chief Ademola Adegbite, a.k.a. Sagbami had been working on the burial of the late monarch.
