Fashola Meets With Traders

Lagos State Governor,  Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Tuesday had an interactive session with market men and women in the state and urged them to come out en masse on Tuesday April 26 to sign on to the continuity of a transformation that has started.

Governor Fashola who had the meeting at the Sunday Adigun residence of the Iyaloja General of Market Men and Women in Nigeria, Alhaja Abibat Mogaji added that the last 12 years have been of tremendous success in governance in Lagos State.

Governor Fashola who also spoke with news men after the interactive session stated that he wanted the people to sign on to the continuity of a BRT system, light rail, water supply, good security, free education, better opportunities, Agric Yes programme and all life changing programmes which must continue.

“This is our territory, we are mobilizing and energizing our people. We are canvassing for votes. This is a democracy. It is a people’s issue. It is a people’s government. We are galvanizing all the support that is unequivocally behind us”, the governor reiterated.

He explained that in a week’s time the administration will overcome all its adversaries and record overwhelming success at the polls once the signature which is the vote of the people for the ACN is appended.

Governor Fashola also informed that the rescheduled National Assembly elections in Ifako Ijaiye, Shomolu and Ikorodu federal constituencies will be conducted on the same Tuesday, April 26 like the Governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Earlier, a member of the market development board, Alhaja Kudirat Badmus cleared the air on insinuations that markets are being demolished without alternatives and affirmed that for all the markets that have undergone facelift, renovation or being rebuilt in the state, alternative markets have been provided by the State Government.

Alhaja Badmus expressed optimism that the ACN will emerge victorious on April 26.

She also expressed the readiness of the members to mobilise people, market men and market women to troop out en mass.

The governor had earlier visited Alhaja Abibat Mogaji before addressing the market men and market women who attended the meeting.
