Sex has become a usual phenomenon in the Nigerian tertiary education system, with many lecturers demanding it from female students before giving them marks and when they supervise their projects some randy lecturers often take advantage to harass final year female students.
That is actually the case with a middle-aged lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, a doctorate degree holder, whose name starts with letter H.
Sources at the institution told Campus Square that virtually all the female students that have worked with this lecturer have been his victim one way or the other.
It was also alleged that most times, the lecturer deliberately failed his victims and would demand for sex before giving them pass marks.
At the moment, this OOU lecturer is one of those designated to supervise the projects of some final year students and a couple of the female among them have alleged that he has been harassing them sexually.
“He has been making the project extremely difficult for those of us that refused to dance to his tune. I have actually been praying, hoping that God will touch his heart so that I can graduate successfully,†one of the affected students told Campus Square.
