The Ekiti State chapter of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), has described the victory of President Goodluck Jonathan in last Saturday’s election as the victory for Nigerian.
Chairman and secretary of the association, Chief Biodun Akin Fasae and Sunday Ibitoye respectively, in a statement, said the PDP should not attribute the victory to its popularity but as a vote for the personality of the president, noting that had Jonathan emerged in any other political party as candidate, he would have as well won convincinly like he did in last Saturday’s election.
Commending the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, for the election conduct, however, urged the electoral umpire to consolidate on his performance in subsequent elections.
