A 25-year-old driver, Mr. Sunday John, was on Tuesday arraigned at an Abuja Magistrate’s Court for allegedly breaking into his manager’s office to steal N385,000.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Hussein Emmanuel, told the court that one Mrs. Lota Eze, who is the Managing Director of the company where the accused worked, laid a complaint to the police against him.
Emmanuel said that the accused stole his manager’s keys with which he gained access to her office.
He said that during police investigation, N21,800 was recovered from him.
The prosecutor said that the offence was contrary to section 288 of the Penal Code Law.
John, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Senior Magistrate Ann Akobi granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety who must be working and resident within the jurisdiction of the court.
The case was adjourned to May 16 for hearing.
