Peoples Democratic Party’s newly-elected House of Representative member representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency of Kogi State, Hon. Tajudeen Ayo Yussuf, has thanked all those who voted for him in the National Assembly elections, especially members of the Okun Youth Association, home and abroad.
In a thank-you message to his constituents, he promised not to disappoint them when he gets to the lower chamber in Abuja, adding that he will always carry them along in everything he does as their representative.
Yussuf took a swipe at Hon. Dino Melaye, a member of the House, whom he accused of going around discrediting his victory and disparaging his person. He advised him to retrace his steps and toe the line of honour, dignity and magnanimity in defeat which was amply demonstrated by Hon. Dimeji Bankole, Speaker of the House and a host of other losers in the elections.
Yussuf urged Melaye to accept the reality that has just dawned, bury the hatchet and join forces with the progressives. “And if he persists in his rabble-rousing politics, then he is sure heading for his political hara-kiri. I have won convincingly and there is nothing anyone can do about it, not even Dino. So, he should just accept the obvious and move on with life, or better still turn a new leaf in politics by playing it decently, without bitterness,†he advised.
