Man Drags Girlfriend To Court

A 25-year-old student, Nanyil Larfa, was on Tuesday brought before an Abuja Magistrate’s Court for stealing N150,000 from her boyfriend’s house.

Police prosecutor, Jeremiah Elijah told the court that on March 24, one Ohana Andrew of Lugbe reported that Larfa, his girl friend, stole the money from his house.

Elijah said that Andrew left Larfa at home and discovered on return that she had absconded with the money.

The prosecutor said that the offence was contrary to the Penal Code Law.

The accused pleaded not guilty while the prosecutor asked the court for a date to open the case for hearing.

When asked where she resided, the accused told the court that she had since moved out of Andrew’s house and returned to her father’s.

Senior Magistrate Basiru Alkali granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety who must be residing within the court’s jurisdiction.

He adjourned the case to May 19 for further hearing.
