Stay Away From Southwest, OPC Warns Rioters
The National Coordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, Otunba Gani Adams has warned rioters to stay away from the Southwest or meet their waterloo.
Adams gave the warning while speaking in Ikorodu, Lagos, during a meeting of the National Coordinators Council of the OPC in Ikorodu North Local Government.
“OPC will not fold its hands and watch any rioter kill a Yoruba or Igbo person in the Southwest. So, keep your madness in the North,” Adams warned.
The OPC leader also praised the Chairman of INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega for conducting free and fair elections in Nigeria after the acclaimed June 12, 1993 elections. “If the international community can give somebody kudos for a job well done, then who are the rioters? Why are they protesting, it is madness,†he said.
While advising the losers in last Saturday’s presidential election to accept defeat in the spirit of sportsmanship, Adams said: “I don’t belong to any political party but I am concerned about the welfare of our people.â€
Adams who will be 41 on Saturday, 30 April, 2011 said he will use the occasion to pray for peaceful coexistence of the Yoruba race.
